Major bovine smuggling bid foiled
142 bovine animals rescued by Ramban police

Ramban, Oct 2: Continuing its efforts to check the menace of bovine smuggling, today on the directions of SSP Ramban Anita Sharma, Ramban police today foiled a major bovine smuggling bid and rescued 142 animals from the clutches of bovine smugglers.
Police spokesman said that a police parties led by Inspector Vijay Kotwal-SHO Ramban, Inspector Abid Bukhari- SHO Chanderkote and Inspector Nazir Ahmed- SHO Batote under supervision of DySP Hqrs Ramban Asgar Malik under close supervision of Addl. SP Sanjay Parihar raised surprise nakas on NHW at various places.
"During checking of vehicles, 02 Trucks bearing registration numbers JK13-7524 and JK02AC-8569 got intercepted near Nashri under the jurisdiction of Batote police station and on search of the said trucks both found loaded with 53 bovine animals.
Meanwhile, 02 trucks bearing registration numbers JK21B-7585 and JK03B-0924 got intercepted at Chanderkote under the jurisdiction of Chanderkote police station, both found loaded with 44 bovine animals and 02 trucks got intercepted at Shan Palace under the jurisdiction of Ramban police station and found loaded with 43 bovine animals.
All the above stated vehicles were found involved in illegally transporting bovine animals towards Kashmir without seeking proper permission from the concerned authorities and total 142 bovine animals have been rescued from the clutches of bovine smugglers.
Moreover, all the above said 06 vehicles have been seized and 4 persons namely Riyaz Ahmed of Darsipora, Banihal, Anwar Ali of Ragoora, Jammu, Munshi Khan of Sidhra, Jammu and Mohd Asdullah of Woogra Teh Dooru, Anantnag have been taken into custody.
In this regard a case under FIR Nos. 153/2018 and 154/18 under section 188 of RPC, 3 PC Act has been registered at Police Station Ramban, similarly FIR Nos. 57/18 and 58/18 under section 188 of RPC, 3PC Act has been stand registered at Chanderkote police station and FIR Nos. 108/18 and 109/18 under section 188 of RPC, 3PC Act has been registered at Batote police station respectively and investigation taken up to ascertain the source and other persons involved in the crime.
