PDP-NC to hold formal meeting soon!
10/2/2018 10:04:17 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 2: Amid growing affinity between otherwise arch-rivals, the Peoples Democratic Party and the National Conference over their prospective formation of government in the state, the senior leaders of the twin parties are likely to meet in the coming days.
Sources said National Conference patron Dr Farooq Abdullah is likely to meet senior PDP leader Syed Altaf Bukhari in the summer capital of Srinagar soon.
Sources said the leaders of the two parties and their well wishers have been of the opinion that the senior leadership must hold a formal meet to decide future course of action.
Sources said a businessman who is a common friend of the Abdullahs and the Bukharis is likely to host the meeting at his residence.
"None of the leaders from either sides will visit each other's residence... There's a consensus that henceforth such meetings will be held only elsewhere, preferably at a secure location like residence or hotels belonging to close friends," said a source close to the PDP.
Sources said political secretary of one of the senior leaders of the NC, has already started deliberations with some of the female leaders from PDP, he know for long.
"Basically what has happened is that Abdullahs have reposed faith in a few leaders including this political secretary and one leader from Kangan to carry forward the mission," said a NC leader on the condition of anonymity.
Sources said some of the leaders within the NC had expressed reservations over holding of talks with the PDP but that the majority leaders are in favor of the relationship to keep the right wing Bharatiya Janta Party away from power in the state.
It is pertinent to mention that for the last few days, the NC and PDP have been coming closer since their senior leader Syed Altaf Bukhari openly proposed the other party for alliance in the state.
The next day, National Conference leader Tanveer Sadiq took to social media to convey that National Conference was willing for the said alliance provided, the PDP comes up with a formal proposal.
Despite repeated attempts the leaders of the twin parties couldn't be contacted for comments.
