| KVK organizes training programme on zero seed cum fertilizer Drill | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Oct 4: Krishi Vigyan Kendra- Rajouri of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) organized one day Farmers'training programme on Zero seed cum Fertilizer Drill for Wheat sowing at Thandi Kassi.
The programme was attended by more than 20 number of farmers of the area. The programme was organized under the guidance of Associate Director Extension and Incharge of KVKs of SKUAST-Jammu Dr. R.K. Arora. Dr. Vishal Sharma, Scientist (Agronomy) welcomed the farmers and briefed them about the activities of KVK. He discussed the agronomic practices to be follow in Wheat and Oats crops for coming Rabi season. He also stressed upon the use of vermi-composting.
The programme was led by Dr.Abhay Kumar Sinha, Scientist (Agril. Engineering) of KVK, Rajouri with the brief introduction of Improved agriculture implement among the farmers. He told that to use agriculture implement in their farms so that all the agriculture operations have completed within time period and reduced the cost of agriculture operations. He stressed about the Zero seed cum fertilizer drill for sowing wheat without field operation. He explained introduction, function and calibration of seed drill. He also explained about the maintenance of seed drill. He also discussed about resource conservation soil erosion by water.
Farmer's showed a great eagerness to use small improved implement and seed drill and maize planter in their farms. |
