FoIJ demands extension centre of MSME tool room

Jammu, Oct 4: Federation of Industries Jammu (FOIJ) has demanded an extension centre of MSME tool room Ludhiana at Jammu till the establishment of Technology Centre in Jammu.
The 76th Central Tool Room Governing Council Meeting of MSME Ludhiana was attended by Dr. Ravi Shanker Sharma (KAS), Director Industries & Commerce, Jammu and Lalit Mahajan, Chairman, Federation of Industries, Jammu (Governing Council Members).
During the course of discussions Director Industries & Commerce, Jammu, Dr. Ravi Shanker Sharma & Mahajan, raised the issues with the Chairman of Governing Council in respect of problems being faced by the Industrial Sector of J&K due to non availability of requisite infrastructure with the MSME DI-Jammu office for providing specialized services for the manufacturing of special Tools/Moulds for units engaged in the manufacturing of Plastics, Pharmaceuticals & other related products.
It was also brought to the notice of Chairman, that several Extension Centers are already working under the control of Central Tool Room, Ludhiana at Nilokheri, Karnal, Faridabad, Rohtak in Haryana which are providing skill training in specialized field to the youths and it is the need of the hour to open the similar Extension Center at Jammu to create infrastructure for providing Skill Training to the local youth of J&K with the participation of ITI's of the State especially in the fields not catered by it is and providing door step facility to the local Industries. Chairman issued on spot directions to the General Manager, CTR to take up the matter with the Director of Industries, Jammu for deliberations with the stake holders to start the Tool Room Facility as per the requirement of Industrial Units till the establishment of Technology Centre at Samba, Jammu.
