| ABVP stages protest against college professor, demands action | | |  Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Oct 4: Students of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramban staged strong protest demonstration against a professor and demanded strict action against him after he (professor) sent shameful message to female students of GDC Ramban, here today.
The protestors was led by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) college unit president Suraj Singh whereas ABVP state secretary Gurdeep Singh was also present.
Speaking on the occasion Suraj Singh alleged that the college professor make obscene SMS to girls, which is absolutely illegitimate and we will not tolerate it.
He appealed to the Governor of the state Satya Pal Malik that such professor should not be appointed in our college but should be removed as soon as possible. The girl students of the college said that the government has launched several schemes for girls but what is the use of these schemes if there is no action against the said professor.
They said that if our families get to know that this is going on our college, then they will also feel that we are not safe there.
In this context, GDC Ramban principal Dr. Ravindra Kumar Tiku said that we have received written complaint from three girl students, which is for the first time that a teacher has sent SMS which is not right for a teacher.
He said that we immediately referred the case to the college committee, they looked into the matter. He further said that meanwhile the professor who is also the coordinator of the NSS unit and HOD was removed from the posts.
He said that we have called explanation in this regard and after receiving the reply will take action under law. |
