Jammu, Oct 7: Jammu Joint Students' Federation (JJSF) has decided to organized Chhatra Shaheed Memorial Football Tournament 2018.
The tournament will be organized to commemorate and pay homage to the student martyrs of 1966, namely Gulshan Handa, S. Gurcharan Singh, Brij Mohan and Subash Chander, who sacrificed their lives while fighting against the shifting of Agricultural University (SKUAST) from Jammu to Kashmir by the then government. The tournament will start from 9th of October to 18th of October.
Addressing the media persons, Pushvinder Singh, President, JJSF said that JJSF is observing martyr days on 16th 17th and 18th Octobers since 1985 to pay the tributes to the student martyrs of 1966.
He said that JJSF has decided to organize a football tournament in the memory of these Student Martyrs of 1966 so that the Young Generation particularly students shall come to know the contribution of these martyrs. He further told that the Tournament shall start from 9th of October, 2018 with an opening match between Param FC and All Star at 1:00 PM at football ground of GGM Science College, Jammu. |
