India needs game changer in Air defence
10/7/2018 10:27:59 PM
The meeting between Prime
Minister, Narendra Modi, and the Russian President, Vladimir Putin in New Delhi, was actually meant for procuring 5 billion dollar S-400 air missile system. Yes it was a formality that the two heads of the Government discussed regional, bilateral and global issues Already the Government is in final stage of procuring 126 Rafale from France. And the Indian air Chief has stated that Rafale could be a game changer as far as India's Air combat readiness was concerned. And the Congress continues to be critical of the Rafale deal indicating that there has been an element of corruption. And the same corruption charges were leveled against the Congress when it purchased Bofors. And interestingly the war on Kargil heights was won by India because of the Bofors. This way let the opposition Congress wait for the expert opinion on the deal. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin met here on Friday for the 19th India-Russia annual bilateral summit during which they will deliberate on a host of bilateral, regional and global issues. A relationship radiating warmth and affection! Modi welcomed Russian President_E Vladimir Putin for the 19th India-Russia Annual Bilateral Summit continuing the series of fruitful engagements this year!" Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted along with a picture of the two leaders at Hyderabad House. A number of agreements including the crucial 5 billion dollar S-400 air missile defence system was signed later. And about the S-400 missile defence system the Indian air Chief says the missile system has the best sensors and advanced weaponary.
The Indian air Chief has said that India needs the latest Russian missile system and has defended the deal amid raging controversy. The Armed forces need some game changer as far as the sky power is concerned and Rafale may help India in measuring muscles with Pakistan and China because both these countries have developed missile defence system. The current wars are not fought by men but by machines and India is surrounded by major enemies, China and Pakistan, it has to update and upgrade the missile system, long range guns, tanks and submarines. And with these upgradation India is capable of meeting challenges from China and Pakistan an d this is not the ideology of the Congress which is dead set to berate Modi.
