Srinagar, Oct 21: The traffic authorities on Sunday said that traffic movement on Srinagar Jammu highway will be allowed from Jammu to Srinagar today.
An official from the traffic department said that nomads have started driving their cattle for seasonal migration to Jammu from the Valley, which often leads to a heavy traffic jam. Keeping in view the situation, the authorities have allowed the only one-way traffic on the highway and the vehicles will be plying from Jammu to Srinagar today.
"Earlier landslides hit the road which also led to the traffic jam for very long, but now the traffic is smooth and plying from Jammu to Srinagar," the official said.
Pertinently, from the past many days, the highway has witnessed massive traffic jams which often lead the commuters to face inconveniences. |
