9 bovine rescued, 2 vehicles seized

Rajouri, Oct 21: District Rajouri police at two separate places have rescued nineteen bovine animals and have also seized a truck and goods carrier vehicle and also arrested the driver while another managed to escape.
The police have booked the smugglers under various sections of law and started investigation. Yougal Manhas, SSP said that on the intervening night of October 20 and 21, police party headed by Sanjay Raina, in-charge police post Chingus signalled a truck to stop at police check post at Kallar.
"But instead applying breaks the driver crossed the 'naka' in speed and fled from the spot", said SSP.
He added the police party chased the truck bearing registration No.JKo2H-5977 coming from Jammu side and found it parked after about i kilometre and the driver had disappeared.
Police on checking of the truck rescued 16 bovine animals and started further investigation. In another case inspector Aazaj Haider, SHO, Rajouri under the supervision of Govind Rattan, deputy SP HQ intercepted a goods carrier vehicle carrying number JK02M-8406 near Sailani bridge during patrolling.
Police found three bovine animals loaded in the vehicle, rescued them and also arrested the driver namely Siraj Din s/o Abdul Amin r/o Darhal and started further investigation. District Rajouri police during last 7 days have rescued 50 bovine animals from the clutches of the smugglers.
