Jammu, Oct 21: Suman Gupta , an internationally known magic realist artist of the state has been invited to show series of his new art works at the newly opened "Gallery Christine frechard in a major international group show in Pittsburg, USA .A month long show is being organized by Gallery Christine frechard in which some of the main stream artists from Spain, Italy ,France ,U.S.A and India shall be putting up their works starting next month. Art of Suman Gupta opens up for the spectator and entire range of aesthetic experience wherein the commonplace, familiar objects and people having been invested with significant feelings undergo a process of magical transformation. What distinguished this self taught artist from rest of his elk is the apparent ethnic feel of his works. All the central characters and elements in his super-realistic paintings are clearly based on his own people and the land. Suman Gupta as serious and research oriented painter with his objective reality and every new work explore the hidden reality with consistency and conviction as moral undercurrent. Some of his finest works produced in tempera and dry brush shall be put on display by the gallery. |
