Inter District Division Level Cricket Tournament gets underway

Kathua, Oct 29: The inter District divisional level Cricket tournament of under 14 years boys got underway at Sports Stadium Hiranagar under the directions of Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu Madan Lal and supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kathua Sunil Kumar. 4 teams of Jammu division viz Kathua, Samba, Jammu and Udhampur are participating in the aforesaid tournament. A total 59 players are participating. The tournament was inaugurated by Child Development Project Officer Sushil Khajuria (KAS) in the presence of Zonal Physical Education Officer Yog Raj Sharma, Rajesh Kumar and Kailash Chander. The opening match was played between Samba and Jammu. Samba elected to field after winning the Toss. Jammu made 128 runs in the prescribed 15 overs. Kannav with the help of two boundaries and 2 sixes collected 28 runs in 11 balls and remained not out. Dhruv Singh of Jammu added 15 runs runs in 15 balls.
Samba declined at 9.4 over by collecting only 35 runs. Mannat, Utkarsh and Sahil of Jammu clinched 2 wickets each in one over each.
