Terrorists attack BSF vehicle in Srinagar, 5 Jawans injured; search Ops underway

New Delhi, Oct 29: Five jawans were injured after terrorists on Monday attacked a BSF vehicle at Pantha Chowk on the outskirts of Srinagar city in Jammu and Kashmir, The injured personnel, belonging to the 163 battalion have been rushed to a nearby hospital. The condition of one jawan is stated to be critical. A BSF official said that the militant attack took place at around 6:15 PM near Zeewan crossing.
Meanwhile, security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a manhunt for the assailants. More details awaited.
"Things under control. Today around 6 pm near BSF HQ, 2 cars which were returning from duty when terrorists fired. 4-5 ppl injured with bullet shots. Search operation on," Ravi Deep Singh Sahi, IG CRPF said.
The latest attack comes hours after it was reported that the Indian Army launched an attack on the Pakistan Army's administrative headquarters located along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch.
