2 day counseling fest begins at MV International School

JAMMU, Oct 29: Career Counseling Fest-2018" started at MV International School and the aim of the session was to deal with "Adolescence in Teenage" for students of classes 6th to 8th and "Career Counseling" for 9th and 10th.
Adolescence Session was conducted by Dr. Chand Trehan, Freelance Psychologist and a successful Psychological Consultant to sensitize students about various problems and insecurities they have during the transition period. Dr. Trehan gave valuable insight to the students about puberty and transition towards adolescence. She also spoke about various physical and emotional changes the children face during this period. She laid emphasis on good eating habits, proper sleep, personal hygiene etc. Children also discussed various problems that they face during this time. Later, she interacted with parents and briefed them about problems related to Adolescence and discussed issues related to Growth and Development of children.
Career Counseling Session was conducted by Vikramjeet Singh Bhatia, Zonal Head (Punjab and J&K) AMITY University. He talked about various careers available and necessary information. He told the students, 'The first thing is to analyze your interest, hobby, inclination and potential. If you choose a career based on hobby and interest the rate of success and satisfaction level is high'. He advised them to accord priority to their potential and interest, not to choose any career under influence of friends and parents. He discussed about the conventional and non conventional careers and covered them in five groups viz. People based, Creative, Business, Physical/Outdoor and Science-based careers.
