GDC organizes symposium on 'Strengthening Panchayati Raj Institutions in J&K'

REASI, Oct 30: GDC Dharmari organized Symposium on the theme "Strengthening Panchayati Raj Institutions in J&K" The event was conducted in the college campus.
Dr. TR Sharma, Principal of the college was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Students presented their views regarding the issues grappling Panchayati Raj system of the state.
The students highlighted the loopholes and weakness of the system and they also made valuable suggestions so as to strengthen the institutions at grass roots level to make panchayati raj institutions as the first tire of democracy in real sense. Asst. Prof Khalid Sajad Bohra delivered an extension lecture on the topic. Dr. TR Sharma encouraged the students to participate in the democratic process and also be vigilant about the degradation of the valuable institutions.
The three participants were adjudged as Musharraf Hussain Ist, Surinder Kumar 2nd and Waqar Choudhary as 3rd. By the jury comprising Assistant Professor Sham Lal, Assistant Professor Dr. Sunil Tanoch, Assistant Professor Ajay Kumar and other staff members were also present including Assistant Professor Dr. Mohd Akhter, Assistant Professor Sat Pal, Physical Training Instructor Ashok Kumar, Lecturer Mir Rahul Ahmad, Lecturer Shewali Gupta and Er. Samit Gupta. The programme was conducted by Assistant Professor Baldev Singh.
