Early Times Report
srinagar, Oct 30: Director Tourism Kashmir, Tasaduq Geelani, has brought disgrace to Jammu Kashmir state by throwing craggy remarks and giving slurred speech at Gulmarg on Saturday last while addressing delegates' visiting Kashmir under the Familiarization (FAM) Tour.
The video of the Director's speech has appeared on social media site. He is speaking out his heart, proudly calling a hotelier as his bosom friend, expressing disappointment over the guests from all over the country rejecting his invitation and asserting that he is not afraid of anybody.
Here is the speech of the Director: "I am grateful, thankful to counterparts, the travel and trade agency holder, the hotel association, the restaurant association especially my dear friend to…And all other friends from Gulmarg. I am basic man and I am a practical man. I believe in to do and give I expect that I can speak now may be not. I am very sensitive person. Why should I expect? To give and the out I believe in that I am not a Kashmiri I don't think that I am from Jammu province I am from Kashmiri but I am not a Kashmiri. This is my moral duty for something for society. I am sensitive person. The association leaders which I have expecting to be here on these chairs to give me feedback what is positive and negative….. I have seen 90 after 90. I am practical man this message to go out. I am a positive person god fearing person. What to contribute something for future generation. DJ is such an experience, I shouldn't speak now. But I wanted to be here. But message should go. Why they aren't here. Expecting good response from these budding stars, bloggers, journalists and the others. I am sensitive person I don't worry. They can shift me anywhere. I want to contribute for Kashmir that has seen bad times.. I don't think I am a lay man don't think I don't know anything about tourism. This is the smallest department for which I have enjoyed since two months but dear friends keep this in mind I am not here to fight for you. Be sincere to Kashmir. I don't want. I will stop mike. Let it be mine last evening asDirector tourism. I will not expect discussion directions and orders of anyone. I am very well. I need six feets 2 inchs. I am speaking from my heart. This will be my last day as Director Tourism. I have invited best ambassadors from all over India Why they aren't here. I am not afraid of anyone. I will sacrifice my life for poor…."
Once Deputy Director Massarat Hashim tries to stop him from addressing the gathering at Gulmarg, but the Director asks him not to stop his speech, which is arguably the best entertaining speech of the year from a government officer. Officers finally snapped the power supply to apply their brakes on the no-holds-barred chief.
Director Tourism Kashmir had extended invitation to almost 150 guests which include guests from Doordarshan, Radio, Director Information and PR of different states, National Tour operators, Media Fraternity (Print and Electronic Media), Travel bloggers and writers across the nation. Tourism department arranged to and fro air tickets, boarding, lodging and local transportation for visiting guests.
Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC), Sher-e-Kashmir International Convocation Center (SKICC) and private hoteliers were roped in and asked to facilitate the visiting guests at Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Srinagar.
The guests arrived in Srinagar on October 25. Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satypal Malik attended the welcome ceremony at SKICC. Director Toursim Kashmir, Tassaduq Geelani said that Tourism department hosted 3-day FAM tour of about 100 delegates in an effort to "remove negative perception about Kashmir."
