32nd State Yoga Championship declared open

JAMMU, Oct 30: 32nd State Yoga Championship was declared open by Reavi Singh, Divisional Sports Officer, J&K State Sports Council Jammu Division today at Indoor hall, M.A. Stadium, Jammu. Eighty three Yoga players who qualified in the districts Yoga Championships organised at Jammu, Rajouri, Udhampur and Reasi took part in the championship in different age groups (Both Boys & Girls).
Certificates and Medals were distributed by Kavinder Gupta Farmer Dy. Chief Minister in the presence of Deepak Handa, President J&K Yoga Association and Vice-President of Yoga Federation of India, Surinder Pathak General Secretary, Vinod Bhatia Associate Secretary, Anil Gupta (Chief Coach), Also present were Rajinder Koul, Abhijit Jasrotia, Ravi Singh (Div. Sports Officer Jammu), Satish Gupta (Manager indoor), Mohd. Salman, Ashwani Katoch, Surinder Kumar, Mukesh Sharma, Harinder Singh, Vishal Kumar. Championship was officiated by Mukesh Sharma, Vishal Kumar, Shamsher Singh, Harinder Singh, Ritu Chib, Vishu Sharma, Surinder Kumar, Mohd. Salman, Dayal Ram, Ashwani Katoch from Reasi. Prof. (DR.) Ashutosh Sharma, Vice President Indian Olympic Association & Gen. Secy, J&K Olympic Association who was also present during the last phase of the function was accorded warm welcome and also presented a Mementoes as a special guest.
Speaking on the occasion Kavinder Gupta appreciated the efforts of J&K Yoga Association which he said has gained importance allover the world and every individual practice yoga to keep himself physically fit, mentally alert, socially sound & spiritually pious. He urged the parents of players who had accompanied their wards to give more stress on yoga. He also promised to provide Yoga Hall to the Association.
