Shiksha Niketan celebrates Diwali

Jammu, Nov 5: Shiksha Niketan Sr. Sec. School, Jeevan Nagar celebrated Diwali - the festival of lights with great zeal and enthusiasm today in its premises. The school was beautifully decorated with hand made diyas, colourful candles and buntings etc. Every student took part in decorating the school. The special Guest invited for the occasion was Padam S.P Verma Global Gandhian Family (Social worker and peace activitiest), Tirath Kour (Corporator Digiana), Reeta Mengi Trustee of R.M Charitable trust & Satpal Gupta and other dignitaries of sister concern of Shiksha Niketan, Jeevan Nagar. The guests were given a warm welcome by the worthy Principal Rameshwar Mengi and the incharges of the school by presenting them the decorated saplings. The programme was started in a very ceremonial manner. The traditional lamp was enlightened by all the invited Guests with the holy hymns of Goddess Lakshmi. Further, the teachers of Pre primary wing presented Vandhana there by making the atmosphere fill of pious thoughts.
Then there was a presentation of dogri dance by the teachers of primary wing. Then there was the distribution of Diwali Gifts among the staff members of R.M public school, R.M college of education and Shiksha Niketan (Pushp Vatika, Jeevan Nagar and Gandhi Nagar) by the worthy Principal and the invited guests.
