Was Anil Parihar killed for his August 31 speech?
11/5/2018 10:40:43 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 5: Although police is still groping in the dark to get a lead in the gruesome killings at Kishtwar, social media is flooded with a speech of martyred BJP leader Anil Parihar in which he was challenging those who were trying to communalize the state in the name of defending Article 35-A.
In the social media people have been arguing that speech given by Anil Parihar August 31 was the main cause of his killing. It is premature to arrive at a conclusion but it is also a reality that after his speech in which Anil Parihar had opposed using religious places to instigate people in the name of Article 35-A he became eye-sore for those who were hell bent to create communal division in the State in the name of this controversial Article.
The assassination of a top BJP leader and his brother by suspected militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar has sparked tension in a communally sensitive town that has a history of violence along religious lines.
This is the first attack on a political leader in Jammu in the past several years and it is widely believed that terrorists exe
Duplicity of BJP leadership has exposed
During the Rassana murder and alleged rape case, BJP leadership had rejected demand of the majority of the people to hand-over that case of the CBI. To remain in power, the then BJP ministers in the government rejected demand of the people to hand-over that case to CBI. Ex-BJP ministers expressed full faith in Crime Branch of J&K Police despite the fact that some tainted officers were especially called to investigate the Rassana case. But when come the case Parihar brothers' killing, BJP leadership has no faith on J&K Police. BJP leadership in one voice has demanded handing over of this case to the NIA.
uted killings of two brothers to give a message that those who would dare to oppose their game-plan will be eliminated.
Only two months ago, the army had declared as militancy-free the entire Doda region where an estimated 1,000 people have been killed in terror attacks over the years.
In July, police arrested two suspected overground workers of the Hizbul Mujahideen. One of them was identified as Nissar Ahmad, who was a maulvi of a local madrassa, from whom three magazines of AK-47 were recovered.
The killing of Anil Parihar raises questions about revival of militancy in Jammu. Parihar was one of the oldest active BJP workers in the town and had countered separatism and terrorism. He had publicly opposed calls for support of Article 35A.
During a protest demonstration in August this year, Anil Parihar had said Hindus can't be intimidated and had warned the authorities against closing of shops.
Many feel that the fatal attack on Anil Parihar and his brother signalled the revival of terrorism in the area, with militants sending a "warning" to the BJP and other Hindu right-wing organisations.
