Young women come forward to contest Panchayat elections in Udhampur

Udhampur, Nov 5: Young educated women from far flung and remotest corner of the District Udhampur have come forward to contest in panchayat election. The filing of nomination by the contesting candidates is going on in phased manner and many young and well educated faces are coming forward to participate in these elections. Despite many odds, women are also taking active part in the elections of various panchyats across Udhampur District as considerable numbers of seats have been reserved for women in the panchayats.
One such example is a young and highly qualified woman candidate for sarpanch from Ghordi Khass west Kulan ward no 6 tehsil Ramnagar of district Udhampur Arti Sharma Wife of Surinder Sharma has filed her nomination for Sarpanch candidate from panchayat Ghordi Khass west Kulan ward no 6 in district Udhampur . Today Arti Shrama along with her Panches and large number of Villagers filed the Nomination for sarpanch at Government middle school ghordi . Arti Sharam is eager to serve the people of her native panchayat and contribute towards the upliftment of the women folk. She is well educated and young candidate for the post of Sarpanch . After filing her nomination she expressed full hope and confidence that she will emerge victorious. While talking she said that she wants to see equitable socio-cultural and economic development in the area. she added that despite many assurances from various governments and political leadership our panchayat is fatr from development There are many burning issues that I want to plead and resolve if I am given mandate by the people. ' I wish to lead and guide the rural women towards their empowerment'' she added.
