| Government Polytechnic Jammu distributes Cheques to students | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 21: The Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammu organized a programme in the college to distribute cheques to the students under "Person with Disability" (PWD) scheme of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
The students with disability studying in Government Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk, Jammu in Three year engineering diploma courses were handed over their respective stipend. The funds were allotted by the MHRD, New Delhi for supporting the studies of students under the category of PWD.
Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal of Government Polytechnic Jammu and Chief Co-ordinator of PWD Scheme, distributed the cheques to students in presence of Er. Amit Kumar Sharma, Project Champion of PWD Scheme, Ar Ritika Wadhera, HOD (Arch), Sh Rajesh Khajuria, Training & Placement Officer, Er. (Ms) Vinay Gupta, HOD, Er Sanam Gupta, Dr Deepak Gupta, Er Rameez Rashid and other staff of the Institute. The PWD scheme is a centrally sponsored scheme under MHRD, Govt. of India for supporting the persons with disability. Under this scheme the Govt. Polytechnic Jammu is providing the stipend to its students to support their studies and daily need.
Speaking on this occasion, the Principal stressed upon the participants to create awareness about the PWD scheme among the society so that the students with disability can take maximum benefit of this scheme and also to provide information about different engineering courses and the other formal courses being undertaken at Government Polytechnic Jammu
