JAMMU, Ded 2: Congress workers along with resident of ward no 64 held a protest demonstration and burnt the effigy of the Chief Engineer PHE against the irregular water supply.
Thakur Hoshiar Singh said that how could people survive without water? For how long they can keep buying water? This also means that there are inefficient people from top to bottom in the PHE Department'. Chief Engineer is there to look after the people, though he is a Government employee yet the fact remains that he is a public servant and the salary he gets is from the taxes and bills of water which the people pay'.
Those who joined the protest included Anjana Anand, Reva Ganjoo, Kushllay Thakur,Lalita Thakur, Lalita, Mamta Devi, Champa Thakur, Nishu Sharma and others. |
