| SI campaigning for Sarpanch candidate, influencing voters | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 2: A Sub-Inspector who has been posted as incharge in one of the police posts in Samba district is allegedly supporting and campaigning in favour of an Ex Sarpanch who is again in fray as a sarpanch candidate in Panchayat elections.
"The Panchayat from where the candidate has filed his nomination falls under the jurisdiction of the police post where the Sub-Inspector in question has been posted", said sources adding that every local knows about the friendship of police officer and ex Sarpanch.
Ex Sarpanch is also a distant relative of the police officer and the police officer is conveying his personal message to every individual of his panchayat to vote in favour of the said Sarpanch, said sources.
Sources further said that the police officer used the services of ex Sarpanch as broker and struck many deals in his area for minting money.
Earlier also, the Sub-Inspector along with Sarpanch candidate grabbed land of custodian land in his jurisdiction where they constructed shops, said sources.
"Senior police officers are not aware of the wrongdoings of the Sub-Inspector who is misusing his official position for supporting a Sarpanch candidate", said sources. |
