Jammu, Dec 6: When Jammu and Kashmir team were battling on the field; the spectators outside the ground were left standing with no proper arrangement with just few chairs staged.
Everyone was well aware that 2011 world cup winner Suresh Raina will be playing and were expecting good sitting arrangements. Those who had made to the ground early in the morning grabbed some 30 odds seat but when the match starts processing more people turned into the stadium. Spectators were seen sitting around the ground and some students were on the roof of hostel building. The condition of ground was not also to the mark of domestic mathces with Ranji matches being played every year at Jammu.
There is no grass near the boundaries with many players almost caught dangerous injuries which could have ruined their career. No special arrangements were witnessed for media section. Earlier there was a tent affiliated to media section but later on it was rooted out by the employees of cricket association. People from all the age group were seen enjoying the game but only few could sit and rest were seen standing behind the chairs. Suhail Khan said that I came here to see Suresh Raina in action. As it is a 90 over game I thought there would have been proper arrangements for the audience who would have came here to watch the match. I had to stand whole day to watch the match. It is literary paining in my knees. Another young man in the audience said that I have grabbed seat in the early morning. I am hungry but I cannot leave my seat. If I do then I may have to stand whole day to witness my first Ranji match. I feel bad for others but I cannot do anything. |
