Scores of delegations, individuals call on Advisor Kumar in Jammu

JAMMU, Dec 6: As part of the ongoing public outreach programme initiated by the Governor's administration, scores of public delegations, individuals met the Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar to apprise him about their issues and grievances at Banquet Hall, here today. The delegations and individuals who met the Advisor registered their grievances related to the Health, Sports, Forest, Home, Information and other departments and sought his intervention in early redressal of their concerns, demands and developmental needs. A delegation of J&K Medical Employees Federation comprising employees working under Academic Arrangement System met the Advisor and presented their issues for his consideration including demand of two- and half-day salary, provision of maternity leave, release of pending salary and other service related issues. Delegation of J&K Chess Association sought support of government in developing the game in the state. The Advisor asked the sports body to work in coordination with Education department in developing a Chess Programme for the schools. J&K Freedom Fighter Association during their interaction with the Advisor raised few issues related to the welfare of Freedom Fighters and their families. A delegation of All J&K Rehbre-e-Janglat Employees presented their demands and concerns related to the job policy under which they are to be regularized. A group of Physical Education Graduates/Post Graduates also met the Advisor and requested for giving weightage to the candidates who have participated in International/National Sports Events during their recruitment process. A group of retired officers representing BSF Welfare Housing Co-operative Society during public hearing gave a memorandum to the Advisor seeking government's support for the welfare of retired officers, other ranks of the paramilitary force. Members of J&K Wrestling Federation also met the Advisor and discussed few important issues for the development of the game besides smooth functioning of the sports body. Advisor Kumar gave a patient hearing to everyone participated in the public hearing camp and assured that their grievances/demands would be examined and the concerned departments will be asked to redress all of their genuine concerns. "The grievances, issues raised would be looked into by the concerned departments and they have already been directed for the prompt disposal of grievances after their proper examination", the Advisor said.
