CEO holds meeting with political parties
Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls

Jammu, Dec 6: Chief Electoral Officer Jammu & Kashmir Shaleen Kabra today held meeting with the representatives of different political parties regarding the on-going Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls.
They were apprised about the extension of ongoing Summary Revision, i.e 23rd December, 2018 as the last date forfilling of Claims and Objections, disposal of claims and objections up to 12th January, 2019 and the final publication of Electoral Roll is 22nd January, 2019.
The representatives of the political parties were informed that the third and final Special Camp at all the polling stations across the state is being held on 16th December, 2018, wherein all the Booth Level Officersin presence of Booth Level Agents will go through the draft roll and identify the errors if any.
The BLOs will also read out the names of the claims and objections received so far including the deleted entries at their respective polling stations.
He requested the political parties to appoint Booth Level Agents at grass root level, who will remain present at designated locations for receipt of claims and objections, under the aegis of designated officers/Booth Level Officers, on the special campaign day, besides to help BLOs to rectify anomalies, if any, in the voter list.
He further appealed them to avail the facility offered by Election Commission of India through an online portal i.e. NVSP http:/ /www.nvsp.in, which can be accessed at a click of a button and the already enrolled voter can see his/her all details and make corrections in their particulars if needed besides new enrolment can be made if not enrolled as voter.
During the meeting representatives of political parties expressed their concerns about the de-duplicate entries in the electoral roll, requested more new polling stations in far flung areas, in response CEO J&K replied that the exercise of removing de-duplicate entries has already being taken at micro level and if any such entries/details in their knowledge to kindly share so that such de-duplicate electors will also be removed.
CEO assures all the representatives that EVM of ECI are temper proof and fully satisfied with the integrity of electoral process, by adding VVPATs it has further enhanced confidence among citizens in ECI's electoral process. The holy book namely "Status paper on EVMs" were also distributed among them.
