SKPA holds 5 day Annual Sports Meet

UDhampur, Dec 15: Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur held five days Annual Sports Meet of trainees.
The tournament was successfully culminated and the closing ceremony of the tournament was held at SKPA Udhampur. Mohammad Sulaiman Salaria, IPS Add. Director General of Police, Director Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The Chief Guest witnessed the final round of Tug-of-War game of the tournament. He gave away the trophies, medals and certificates to the winners and runners up of the Tournament.
While speaking on the occasion, Mohammad Sulaiman Salaria said that during the conduct of the tournament various committees were constituted to ensure smooth conduct of the tournament. During the tournament various sporting events were held in basketball, football, volleyball, handball, weight lifting, tug-of-war, athletics, Kabbadi and shooting competition and the trainees including lady BRTC, Dy.SP (Probationers), Probationer Sub Inspectors, Lower Class Course actively participated. The Director SKPA Udhampur lauded the role of organising members of the tournament and also congratulated the winners and runners up in the tournament.
He said the importance of sports in daily life a the police personnel and particularly during the training period of paramount importance, as it keeps them mentally and physically fit, he added. The Director said that the talent hunt done during the 05 days sports event will lead to formation of good teams in various categories of games which shall compete in the Zonal level games competitions to be organised by Police Hqrs J&K very soon. The Director promised to provide all necessary infrastructure required in sports for betterment of sports culture in the Academy Mohammad Sulaiman Salaria, IPS Addl. Director General of Police, Director Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy was accompanied by Stanzin Norboo, JKPS Asstt. Director (Administration), Randheer Singh, JKPS Asstt. Director (Outdoor) and Murtza Nasir Asstt. Director (Indoor). Among others guests, Pankaj Sudan Dy.SP (Q), Bharat Bushan Dy.SP (Admn), K.K. Sharma Dy.SP (R&D), Vidya Sagar Dy.SP (Outdoor), Ramesh Chander Dy.SP (PS) SKPA Udhampur and other Gazetted/non Gazetted officers of the Academy were also present on the occasion.
