jammu, Dec 15: All efforts of BJP to mollify Thupstan Chhewang failed as Speaker of Lok Sabha Sumitra Mahajan has ultimately accepted his resignation.
BJP had made every possible effort to convince Chhewang to withdraw his resignation-both as MP as well as from BJP but he refused to work with incredible and inefficient leadership of J&K BJP.
Chhewang, one of the veteran and most respected leaders of Ladakh, was 'humiliated and insulted' was Ravinder Raina and Ashok Koul lobby as this group only preferred inexperience and weak leaders at everywhere to keep their total control on the party and organization.
Reports said that Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan accepted the resignations of Thupstan Chhewang, who was elected on Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) mandate, following his differences with the party.
"Thupstan Chhewang, an elected member of Lok Sabha from Ladakh parliamentary constituency of Jammu and Kashmir has resigned from his seat in Lok Sabha and his resignation has been accepted by the Speaker with effect from 13 December 2018," the Lok Sabha secretariat said in a bulletin. |
