Srinagar, Dec 23: State Information Commission (SIC) has dropped penalty proceedings against the Executive Engineer (Xen) City Drainage division Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) as the officer tendered written apology before the Commission.
The Registry of State Information Commission (SIC) was directed to issue a show cause notice to the then PIO/ Executive Engineer, City Drainage Civil Division, SMC, Srinagar, directing him to explain within three weeks as to why the information has not been provided to the then RTI applicant Abdul Majid Gagroo within the period specified under Section 7(1) of the J&K RTI Act. When the penalty proceedings against the then PIO/ Executive Engineer, City Drainage Civil Division, SMC, Srinagar, Imtiyaz Ahmad Qazi came up for hearing before SIC on 12.12.2018, he filed written statement vide No: CDC/2018/4526 dated 24.09.2018 explaining the cause of delay in furnishing information to the then RTI applicant Abdul Majid Gagroo.
The Commission accepted the apology tendered by the then PIO in this regard and dropped penalty proceedings initiated against him. |
