Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 25: Neha Lahotra- the renowned actor and director of the state has once again staged her most famous play 'Main Damini Bol Rahi Hun'.
'Damini' is the name given to the December 16, 2012 Delhi gang rape victim.
'Main Damini Bol Rahi Hun'- written, directed and performed by Neha Lahotra, Junior fellow member of Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), has expressed the pain of the dead girl, rising out of her half-burnt funeral pyre.
Actress Neha Lahotra re-lived Damini as she portrayed her harrowing experience and made the audience wiping their tears throughout her performance.
"Main Damini Bol Rahi Hun' has staged four times till now, but whenever I act as Damini, It totally breaks me into Pieces. I feel the pain of that girl who was a daughter, a sister, a lover and moreover a women of our country," said Neha Lahotra.
"I just tried to open the eyes of the society, who have shown their sympathy for her after she was raped and brutally murdered. But no one came to help her, when she was in trouble and being raped on the roads of the National capital," she added.
The half-an-hour play was a salutation to the rape victim and an eye opener for the society.
The so-called victim questions the cowardice of her betrayers from media, politicians, law makers as well as administrative paraphernalia.
The play was highly appreciated by the audiences, who have been demanding Neha Lahotra to come again with the play on stage.
The play was staged during Rang Tarang Festival-2018, organized by Anuroop Pathania under the banner of Nutan Prayas Manch at Govt. Polytechnic College Jammu.
Meanwhile, another play Ghonsla was also staged.
