PNBMT organizes Chetna Diwas

JAMMU, Dec 27: Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) organized its annual Chetna Diwas function here today at Abhinav Theatre Jammu. A large number of KP community members participated in the function.
Chetna Diwas is observed every year to pay tribute to the Amar Shaheed Pt Prem Nath Bhatt along with a host of other martyrs who laid down their lives and also the members of the valiant security forces, police and para military.
The function was presided over by Col (Retd) Tej Tikoo, president AIKS Delhi.
The function started with the traditional lighting of the lamps by the dignitaries and two minutes silence was observed in memory of the martyrs.
President Samprati, Roshan Saraf read poem on the occasion depicting the poor condition of the temples in Kashmir.
This year Pradeep Koul Khodbali was the community speaker who highlighted the community affairs in a comprehensive manner. Pradeep Koul while speaking on the occasion highlighted the issues regarding the failure of the state governments to bring a Bill for the Protection of Temples and Shrines in Kashmir. He also expressed serious concern regarding the slow and tardy movement of the employment package for the youth of the community. Pradeep Khodbali also made scathing remarks about the highly cumbersome process of polling for the Kashmiri Pandits. He sought an immediate abolition of the m form system of voting for the displaced community.
Col Tej Tikoo made scathing remarks about the non implementation of various welfare measures for the displaced community. He said that we should do away with the system of calling KPs as migrants instead we should be declared as internally displaced persons.
The families of the recently martyred Shaheed Ajit Parihar and Anil Parihar were honoured with a shawl, citation and Samman Patra.
The citation of Parihar brothers was read by Sundri Lal Koul.
The citation of martyr Surinder Kumar Raina was read by Shadi Lal Koul Raees while his Samman Patra was received by his brother.
