Passion, success and happiness - Critical components of life
Ronik Sharma (Advocate)Jamwal Mahadeep Singh1/16/2019 10:10:15 PM
Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. Try not to become a man of success. Rather become a man of value. Sometimes, society becomes accustomed to the laws of nature and the pressures of society. In doing so, they forget about the most important aspect of life: happiness. When we explore what happiness is? It involves three aspects to arrive at the ultimate goal of living life that is happiness. Happiness is timeless and universal hunt quest. Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for. Happiness is possible through intentional habit changes, more than circumstantial changes. When we reduce stress, increase self-awareness, enhance emotional intelligence, and effectively manage painful thoughts and feelings, a stream flows from the mind which gives some pleasure, we call it happiness. Gratitude can significantly increase our happiness, and protect us from stress, negativity, anxiety, and depression. Developing a regular gratitude practice is one of the easiest ways to counter the brain's negativity bias - the tendency to cling to the negative things in our environment thus leading to happiness. To achieve the goal of happiness, we have to traverse through other aspects such as passion and success. We fail to achieve anything if we lack passion of achieving it. As per - Tommy Hilfiger "The road to success is not easy to navigate, but with hard work, drive and passion, it's possible to achieve the dream".
I looked up the word passion in several dictionaries and found best defined in the urban dictionary and there it was; passion is when you put more energy into something than is required to do it. Passion and enthusiasm go hand in hand. As per Ralph Waldo Emerson "Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with all your might. Put your whole soul into it. Stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic and faithful, and you will accomplish your object. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm". It is more than just enthusiasm or excitement, passion is ambition that is materialized into action to put as much heart, mind, body and soul into something as is possible. Almost nothing great has ever been achieved without passion. We are here for a reason. No one else has our unique blend of talents, wisdom, strengths, skills, and creativity. We all have something great to offer, and learning to accept and own what makes us unique is crucial to sharing your thoughts & vision with people. When we are enthusiastic and proud of the work we do, the better equipped we'll be to overcome the many obstacles that will surely arise in the process of moving up in a career. Ensuring we are passionate about our work will provide us with a meaningful career. I believe the path of acting in alignment with your passion is the road less taken, and it can feel really lonely. This is why it's super important to surround yourself with people who are also consciously pursuing the life of their dreams. President elect Donald Trump remarked "Without passion you don't have energy, without energy you have nothing."
According to Joyce Brothers "A strong, positive self-image is the best possible preparation for success. Passion takes you to the next ladder to achieve success. A lot of money is not the primary definition of success, but it's a reasonable goal to have. We all want to have enough money to sustain ourselves and our family. The thing is, if we're truly passionate about the work we do, there's probably a better chance that success will follow. What motivates us to be successful, have relationships, and go to work, to take up hobbies, spend time with friends or go on holiday? How to gain, how to keep, how to recover happiness, is in fact for most men at all times the secret motive of all they do. Happiness turns out to be, along with love, peace and wholeness our deepest longing. Put your heart, mind, and soul into Research shows that purpose and meaning in life are associated with the highest levels of happiness. Happiness means to feel good, but it's good for your health, your relationships, your work and our society. Happiness provides us with the fuel to thrive and flourish as human beings. Generally, when someone says they are happy, they mean they are satisfied with their life and that they are experiencing a preponderance of pleasant emotions, such as contentment, pleasure, joy, enthusiasm and delight. The happiness is very much connected to what is going on in your life. If your relationships are going well, you have money in your wallet, your health is good and you are successful at what you do, you will experience happiness. In true sense this happiness is derived from outside worldly conjectures which comes and goes and is dependent on certain things happening. True happiness is independent of our life situation. Truly happy people have the ability to feel those emotions deeply and fully, but they don't lose sight of themselves as they do, they remain aware and present to their thoughts and emotions without getting caught up in them. Experiencing happiness simply is a case of changing our thoughts, practicing gratitude, being kind and living mindfully, they are all important and all have a part to play. But alone they simply aren't enough to experience true happiness. For true happiness we need to fundamentally change our way of being in the world and change the way we live our life. It's about shifting fro.
We need to know why happiness is so important to us. Why are we so hung up on being happy? Aside from a greater appreciation of life, being happy.
1. Is good for our health. Happy people have stronger immune systems and have a longer lifespan, than depressed and unhappy people.
2. Is beneficial to your relationships. They feel more contentment and tend to share their blessings with others.
3. Helps you handle stress better. Helps you recover from trauma faster.
4. Encourages success. Happy people are more creative and energized and this attitude translates to their work performance.
5. Happy people are reported to live 14% longer, increasing their lives by 7.5 to 10 years.
The studies suggest that to achieve long-term happiness, we need to see our self as a person who is making a difference in this life, and improving the well-being of others, someone who matters. If we focus on these areas, we will have a greater chance of achieving the state of happiness that every human being long for.
