Kishtwar, Jan 16: In a major breakthrough with regard to the killings of BJP State Secretary Anil Parihar and his brother Ajeet Parihar in the heart of Kishtwar town on November 1 last, Kishtwar police and National Investigating Agency (NIA) have laid hands on key CCTV footage after 75 days of the incident that could bring them close to the murderers.
As per the details available with ET, Kishtwar Police got the CCTV footage of lane which is merely 200 meters away from the scene of crime in which a possible suspect involved in the killing of Parihar brother is seen running and hiding his face after seeing the CCTV camera in the light.
The sources told that the timing of the CCTV footage coincided with the timing of the double murder that took place between 8.45 PM to 8.50 PM.
The CCTV footage available with ET shows the suspect running under the dark lane before he tries to behave normal on coming under the focus of high mask municipality lights and soon after noticing the CCTV camera, he can be seen hiding his face and adjusting something suspicious inside his jacket which could be the weapon used in the crime.
The sources said that the investigating agencies are trying to identify the suspect and had even seized the hard disk of the local shopkeeper and other so that they could retrieve more footage from the other angle of the cameras installed in the area.
The sources said that one of the cameras with backing of 7 days data had captured the close angle of the suspect and could help investigating agencies to nab the culprits involved in the killings of BJP leader and his brother.
"We are hopeful of retrieving the data from the hard disk--- the killers will be behind the bars shortly" said an officer privy to the investigation. |
