Vested political interests engineering communal divide: Harsh
2/19/2019 11:11:45 PM
Early Times Report
Ramnagar, Feb 19: Strongly condemning the attempts being made by certain vested interests to create communal divide for political motives, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) chairman Harsh Dev Singh appealed the civil society and youth to expose and oppose the nefarious designs of such divisive forces.
"We have an age old history of communal harmony and brotherhood which can't be allowed to be subverted by reckless politicians for promoting their narrow parochial political interests", said Singh while addressing a youth convention in Ramnagar today.
Flaying the reports of arson and violence pouring in from various parts of the state during the last couple of days, Singh urged upon the youth not to fall prey to nefarious designs of disruptive forces.
"We need to unite to face the onslaught of enemy rather than falling in the trap of opportunist politicians. We have to give the message of united India. We need to stand by the nation and express solidarity with the brave-hearts. We can't trivialize the supreme sacrifice of our valiant Jawans by resorting to hate campaign and communal violence engineered by vested interests. The youth has to carry forward the age old legacy of mutual accommodation and goodwill in the ultimate interests of a stronger and powerful India", said Harsh Dev Singh.
Cautioning the vested political interests to refrain from fishing in the troubled waters of the state, Singh said that people will not tolerate their attempts of creating communal polarization for vote bank politics.
"Don't you dare exploit the sentiments of the people on communal lines. Stop resorting to such gimmicks on the eve elections. Vote bank politics has caused immense damage to our social fabric, our values, our traditions and our entity as a sovereign democratic republic. Think of the nation which comes first. You can't promote your parties by imperially the nation and its people. People were closing observing the role played by all political parties and would stand by those who value national interest above their narrow political interests", said Singh.
Denouncing the false propaganda unleashed by certain political parties that Kashmiries were being harassed in Jammu and other parts of country, Singh said that such rumours were also being floated for vested political interests.
He reminded such parties that Jammu people had always exhibited the spirit of accommodation and tolerance. They had received the migrants from Kashmir irrespective of caste, colour and religion, with open arms, when in distress, and provided them space in their hearts and homes, he reminisced. The Kashmir based leaders know it very well but were making such obnoxious statements only to gain public sympathy from Kashmir voters for whom they had nothing except playing treachery upon them, said Singh.
Ridiculing the BJP for its condemnation of Mehbooba Mufti and her party after having served her for 3½ years and having promoted her agenda in the state, Singh said that such tantrums could no more inspire the people of Jammu. "Such statements being made after loss of power only evoked cynicism rather them appreciation. It's like brandishing your sword and beheading the dead", said Harsh.
He asserted that cowardly surrenders of BJP while in power and its opportunist politics thereafter would cost the party its postal address in the days of come.
