| SBI announces humble initiatives for martyred CRPF soldiers in Pulwama | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 19: State Bank of India (SBI) announced special initiative for the CRPF soldiers who martyred in a dreadful terrorist attack in Pulwama, J&K.
All the CRPF soldiers were customers of the Bank under Defence Salary Package where the Bank provides insurance of Rs 30 lakh to each of the defence personnel. Bank is taking steps to expedite release of insurance money to the next of kin of the martyred soldiers.
23 soldiers had also availed loans from SBI and the bank has decided to waive off all the outstanding loans with immediate effect. Employees of SBI have always exhibited their earnest generosity in the past while supporting any national cause. This time also Bank has made an appeal to all its employees to voluntarily contribute towards the cause through dedicated Home Ministry, GoI Portal - Bharat ke Veer (https://bharatkeveer.gov.in).
SBI is giving 3 options for citizens to contribute towards the cause; Banks' internet banking customers can donate money through a dedicated sub-option created within payments / transfers section in onlinesbi.com. The bank has also created a UPI handle bharatkeveer@sbi for the initiative to help people make their monetary contributions easily.
Individuals can also make a contribution by scanning QR code on BHIM UPI application. Rajnish Kumar, Chairman, SBI said, "It is extremely distressing and disturbing to witness the loss of lives of the Soldiers who always stand for safety of our country.
In this moment of grief, our sincere thoughts are with the families of our brave hearts."
"These initiatives by the Bank are a small gesture towards the families who have faced irreparable loss", he added. |
