Politicians hamper treatment of blast victims for photo sessions

JAMMU, Mar 7: Notwithstanding the anxiety of the relatives of the injured and the pain of the grenade blast victims, the politicians stormed the hospital and hampered treatment for photo sessions.
Pertinently suspected terrorists hurled a grenade at a crowded General Bus stand in the heart of the city killing one person and leaving at least 33 injured.
Surprisingly, keeping in view that emergency is a critical patients treatment area where cool and calm is required from all quarters, the concerned authorities of the have never bothered to take preventive measures to stop such activities so critical patient to get full attention by treating doctors within golden hours.
"It is not the first time when this hospital has witnessed disaster like situation, there are a hundred incidents where treating doctor faces problems while giving first-aid and other treatment to the critical patients as politicians, self-claimed leaders, media persons and others create obstacles, "a senior doctor, who treated today's injured said.
The doctor questioned presence of politicians during such emergencies. "It is very unfortunate that the politicians hamper treatment while posing for photos," he said.
Another doctor said the politicians must allow proper functioning of the hospital during such emergencies if they are concerned about the safety of the victims.
Slamming the week administration, doctors said that GMC&H Jammu has become the political hub where any tom and dick comes to create problems despite knowing that highly sick patients are kept ailing in the emergency.
"The entry of political activists should be banned in emergency wards during a disaster like situation in the interest of patients care because a number of rooms are there where politicians and bureaucrats get full information through CCTV cameras and concerned authority, "they added.
