JU organises blood donation camp

Jammu, Apr 2: In the centenary year of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre and to commemorate the tragic event, the blood donation camp was organized by Health Centre, University of Jammu and Parmaarth (Service before Self) in collaboration with Directorate of Sports & Physical Education under the guidance of the Dean Students Welfare, University of Jammu. Prof. Keshav Sharma, Dean Academic Affairs congratulated the efforts of all those who made this event meaningful. Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Registrar, University of Jammu addressed the gathering and lauded them for coming forward for such a noble cause. Dr Kilam highlighted the importance of blood donation and also informed about the scientific aspects related to it.
The event was managed by the staff of the office of Dean Students Welfare, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, members of Students Cultural Council and volunteers of Parmaarth. Prof. Shailendra Singh Jamwal, Dean Students Welfare, and Dr. Dauood Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, also addressed the blood donors that included faculty members, staff, students and scholars and expressed satisfaction over the collection of more than hundred units. Dr. Shabana Aazmi and Dr. Bharat Bhushan from the Health Centre coordinated the event. Among others Faculty members, Assistant Deans (SW) Dr. Anil Gupta and Dr. Garima Gupta, Officers, staff, Scholars and students were also present on the occasion.
