udhampur, Apr 2: Threatening environment, the mining mafia in violation of court orders the mining mafia continue to use JCB in Tawi River in Kishanpur area in Jammu district and other places within Udhampur district.
Sources alleged that the concerned authorities are bribed monthly so they do not stop the illegal practice.
They further said that many crusher owners use JCB in the river round the clock and many tractor trolleys, tippers and trucks enter the river and collect gravel, sand and stones from the river bed.
The locals have urged the Governor to deal strictly with the mafia and save the river.
A village elder living near Tawi said that the environment authorities should also check the activities of mining mafia. |
