| Poonch roads fall to corruption by officials | | | Rajesh Tandon

Poonch, Mar 2: Public Works (R&B) Department Poonch remained in news for corruption during previous years. This year is no different for the department.
According to sources from Mandi, Poonch town and other far flung areas of the district, all macadamised roads are in bad shape as locals allege embezzlement of funds meant for macdamisation.
Sources informed that former XEn and AEE have misused the funds provided by telecommunication companies due to which most of the roads seem in a shambles.
Locals from Poonch have informed that the road from town to Shiv Khori is in dilapidated condition.
Locals from Mandi including Mohd Javid Shah Puri and others informed that Mandi Poonch road is in bad shape and the department has allegedly embezzled crores of rupees.
They have appealed to governor Satya Pal Malik to conduct inquiry into the matter and take strict action against the erring. |
