ACB produces challan against revenue officials, others

UDHAMPUR, Apr 2: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) unit Doda has produced challan in Anti-Corruption Court Udhampur against few revenue officials and others in a case of fabrication of revenue records.
The challan was produced in case FIR No 06/2013 P/S VOJ (now ACB) U/S 5(1) (d) r/w section 5(2) P.C. Act Svt. 2006 & sections 467, 468, 471 and 120-B RPC against Nasir Iqbal Parray, the then Collector Land Acquisition, Addl. Dy. Commissioner, Udhampur, Mohd Saleem Banday, the then Patwari Halqa Mand Udhampur and the beneficiaries including Gopal Singh, the then Naib Tehsildar Tikri Udhampur, Pritam Singh S/o Kavi Raj R/o Village Mand Distt. Udhampur, Madan Lal S/o Kavi Raj R/o Village Mand Distt. Udhampur, Girdawar in Revenue Department, then posted in G.Q Circle Dhanoo Tehsil and District Udhampur, Shamsher Singh S/o Kavi Raj R/o Village Mand Distt. Udhampur, Balbinder Singh S/o Kavi Raj R/o Village Mand Distt. Udhampur, Subash Singh S/o Kavi Raj R/o Village Mand Distt. Udhampur, Fateh Singh S/o Isher Singh R/o Village Mand Distt. Udhampur, Tara Singh S/o Isher Singh R/o Village Mand Distt. Udhampur the then class-IV employee in Govt. High School Mand (Peon), Gandeep Singh S/o Isher Singh R/o Village Mand Distt. Udhampur A/P Chowk Bhagta the then ASI, ITBP, 21st BN, Pantha Chowk, Srinagar, Rashpal Singh S/o Amar Nath R/o Village Mand Distt. Udhampur (now expired).
The case was registered on the basis of a verification conducted by ACB into the allegations of fabrication of revenue records and the release of compensation money disproportionately amongst the beneficiaries in village Mand, District Udhampur by Nasir Iqbal Parray, the then Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur & Mohd Saleem Banday, the then Patwari Halqa Mand, Udhampur, in league with the beneficiaries thereby wrongfully and dishonestly facilitating the release of compensation amount for acquisition of land for National Highway.
During the investigation, it was found that a total amount of Rs 29,07,857 was illegally and fraudulently disbursed by the accused revenue officers/ officials as compensation among the beneficiaries by depriving the genuine land holders thus causing a loss of Rs 29,07,857 to the state exchequer. After obtaining the prosecution sanctions from the competent authority the case has been challaned for judicial determination. Next date of hearing in the case has been fixed for May 10.
