DLSA Udhampur organizes plantation cum awareness drive

Udhampur, Apr 3: A collaborative Plantation cum awareness drive on topic Water Conservation and restoration of water Resources was organised by Forest division, Udhampur with District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) at Bal Ashram & Nari Niketan (orphanage) Battal Ballian village in Udhampur on Wednesday. The drive was inaugurated by Sandeep Kour, Sub Judge, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Udhampur accompanied by Sagar Singh DFO Udhampur. Beside other Superintendent Yash Bal Bal Ashram, Retainer Laywer Pankaj Magotra , Sawtenter Dev Kotwal and range officer Neeraj Gupta were also present on spot.
The event saw enthusiastic participation of students, teachers, legal members and forest officials. Around 100 plants were planted in the campus. On the occasion, Secretary DLSA Udhampur while emphasizing on the forests said that students are tomorrow's leaders and managers, and they need to be made aware of the challenges of future forest management. He stressed upon the students to plant trees and adopt them for care and nurture. She emphasised upon them to play their role in the preservation of ecology and environment. She said, "leave a place better than you found it by planting more and more trees to preserve fragile environs." She also said that DLSA has taken this plantation drive initiative to contribute in preserving the environment and to create awareness among students about the importance of trees and plants in our lives.
