Early Times Report

Kishtwar, Apr 3: Continuing their protest on day seven against unparliamentarily behaviour of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana, the Sarpanches demanded his immediate transfer.
As per the details available with Early Times, the Sarpanches from various areas of Kishtwar district today assembled outside Dak Banglow and held a peaceful protest cum march and also wore black bands to show their resentment towards government as well as Election Commission of India's failure to remove the DC.
Speaking to Early Times, the angry Sarpanches said that they are on protest since last seven days demanding action against DC Kishtwar who misbehaved, threatened and trained guns of his PSOs against an elected Sarpanch who approached his office with a grievance. They said that they even filed a written complaint against him with police, but police too failed to take action against him adding that they will continue their protest in a peaceful way till the DC is removed. "DC Kishtwar belongs from Assar Doda which is part of Udhampur Parliamentary seat. This is simply an issue of conflict of interest and violation of ECI order," said the Sarpanches. They said that DC Kishtwar has also a past history of misbehaving and abusing the employees, sub ordinate staff including open spat with ADC Kishtwar, BDOs, Tehsildars, teachers and general public. They said that they are hopeful that he will be removed before polling in Udhampur Parliamentary seat schedule to be held on 18-4-2019.
