Early Times Report
doda, Apr 3: Govt Middle school Dhar Banjar in panchayat Tatani ward No 6 zone Drabshalla is situated in hilly terrains of upper reaches of Chenab valley region, with a cool and calm environment surrounding it. Famous, tourist destination Bimal Nag is just a few kilometers away from this school.
The Dhar Banjar ward of panchayat Tatani, which is mainly inhabited by Gujjars and SC community. All the students enrolled in the institution belong to ST and SC community, four teachers are posted. But preachers of universalisation of elementary education will feel ashamed, on seeing the physical appearance of this school, all the schemes made by government to ensure the attendance of all the children of localitiy have failed due to lack of class rooms and proper building.
Students sit under the shadow of trees to take lessons from the teachers. They have to sit on the floor filled with concrete. Some students have got pieces of mat to sit upon.
In addition to these miseries this school has no electricity, no water supply no kitchen and no play ground.
This miserable story of the school dates back to 2015 when old building of this school was set ablaze by unknown persons in June 2015 and soon after that construction of new school building was started, but due to the use of duplicate and improper building material the new building also collapsed.
There are many buildings in Inderwal constituency other than this school which are facing same situation.
Political agents of Ex MLA acted as contractors of these buildings and misused the funds, and in schools like MS Banjar students have to see the way to their home in extreme weather conditions.
Locals of this ward demanded strict action against culprits they also demanded punishment for such kind of acts so that it becomes a lesson for other contractors playing with bright future of students.
