CITIZENS TO DEPOSIT LICENSED WEAPONS AT POLICE STATION BY OR BEFORE 7TH APRIL 2019 IN VIEW OF ELECTIONS- 2019*

Jammu, April 4th: This is in pursuance to District Magistrate Kathua order no.DMK/JC/2019-20/04-08 dated 04-04-2019 wherein weapon license holders has been directed by DM Kathua to deposit their weapons at concerned police station within 3 days. Any violation in this connection shall be dealt sternly under legal provisions of Section 188 RPC and Arms Act 1959

Keeping in view the forthcoming Parliamentary Elections 2019 scheduled to be held on 18-04-2019 in 5-Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency and as per the guidelines issued by Election commission of India for smooth conduct of free,fair and peaceful Parliamentary Elections 2019 in Kathua, it is hereby informed to all licensed weapon holders to deposit their weapons at their respective Police Stations by or before 7th April 2019 without any delay.

Kathua Police appeals to citizens of Kathua to report any violation in this regard to Police on numbers 100, 01922-234311,234100.

Jammu, April 4th: Apropos to prevailing situation, it is hereby advised to general public not to transmit and circulate sensitive and provocative messages which can hurt the sentiments of any community and may cause breach of peace and may lead to law and order situation.



Avoid sharing and uploading such messages on social media and immediately report to nearest police station or Police control room Kathua about any such activity on social media on Police helpline 100.Police shall initiate legal action against such trouble mongers.
