Emboldened officials call shots at Directorate of Agriculture Kashmir

Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Apr 4: Office of Director Agriculture Kashmir has turned out to be a favorite place for some of the lower rung employees of the department and these officials are calling the shots while undermining the authority of the Head of the Department.
Sources told Early Times that a group of five employees is virtually running the show at the Directorate of Agriculture. These employees are so emboldened that they sometimes rebuke Director Agriculture Kashmir, Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi.
"The employees calling the shots at the Directorate of Agriculture belong to the different cadres. However, the binding force in whole episode is that they consider themselves as above the Director. They issue diktats in the way as if they are the real decision makers and decision takers of the Department of Agriculture," said sources.
Sources identified the 'over smart' officials as Syed Tajamul Qadri, Junior Agriculture Extension Officer, Afshan Hussain, Agriculture Extension Assistant, Musavir Wani, Private Assistant to Director Agriculture Kashmir, Suhail Inamullah, Technical Officer, Directorate of Agriculture, Kashmir and Mohammad Hussain, Technical Officer.
"All these officials are field functionaries but they are holding important assignments at the Directorate of Agriculture, Kashmir. All this is going on under the supervision of Director Agriculture Kashmir. These officials are enjoying like anything and the Director is not able to say anything to them," said sources.
Sources said that Tajamul and Afshan have been rude towards the Director many a times but no action whatsoever has been taken against them. They said that these officials along with the others are taking things for granted at the Directorate and they believe no action whatsoever would be taken against them.
"A complaint is already pending with regards to Tajamul who was formerly working as Media Coordinator at the Directorate. Afshan hacked the official email address at the Directorate along with the website, but no action whatsoever was taken against him," said sources.
Sources said that Musavir, Suhail and Hussain are under the vigil of Director Agriculture Kashmir. These officials are leaving no stone unturned to be in good books of the Director Agriculture even though they are working against the interests of the department.
"Many times requests were made in administrative department to send these officials in the field but no heed whatsoever has been paid to the same. The inaction against the employees has emboldened them and they can go to extent in furthering the mess at the Directorate of Agriculture, Kashmir," said sources.
Sources said that some complaints with regard to moral character of some officials are also pending at the Raj Bhavan. They said that no action has been taken in this regard as well.
