Kathua, Apr 4: Dozens of Public Health Engineering (PHE) daily wagers, casual labourers, Land donors and ITI workers along with their children staged a protest at Kathua, demanding their wages pending from past 18 months. PHE employees under the banner of Public Health Engineering Kathua Joint Employees Association (PHEKJEA) along with their kids assembled at Kalibari here, chanting slogans against the BJP government for withholding their wages from over one a half year. According to ET Correspondent, they said delay in releasing their wages has led to the immense hardships to thousands of families.
Accusing the BJP government for ignoring their plights, the protesting employees here have demanded immediate redressal of their grievances. The association president, said that today's protest was organized against delay in wages from last 18 months. He said that government instead of releasing the wages of PHE employees are leaving them to lurch at large. He also said that government must release their wages pending from nearly two years. In case the government will not release our wages soon then they will stop water supply from all the division to mark a protest against the delay in wages, he said. The protesting employees also said no vote for BJP in Lok Saba election.
