Punctuality week celebration in SPMR College

JAMMU, Apr 5: Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu celebrated the Punctuality Week commencing from 1st April, 2019. A series of activities were organised during this one week celebration.
The first day commenced with a rally on the theme "Work and Personal Life Holistically Integrated" by the faculty and students of the college. The second day was marked with the Slogan competition in which Gunjan Bhatia (B.Com Hon's-IV Sem), Palak (BCA-IV Sem) and Supreet Kaur (BBA-IV Sem) secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position, respectively. A few slogans read "Arriving late is way of saying that your own time is more valuable than the time of the person who waited for you" and "Time management requires self-discipline, self-mastery and self-control more than anything else".
The third day witnessed a pledge on Punctuality by the faculty and "Nukad Natak" performed by Rohan Sharma (BBA-VI Sem), Chetan Charak (M.Com-IV Sem), Sandeep Manhas (M.Com-IV Sem), Kamakshi Khanna (B.Com Hon's-IV Sem), Vasu Sawhney (Integrated M.Com-IV Sem) and Garima Khajuria (B.Com-IV Sem). Finally, the last day of the Punctuality Week ended with Symposium on the theme "Self-discipline, Punctuality and Time Management" in which students participated from various streams, i.e., B.Com, B.Com Hon's, Integrated M.Com, BBA, BCA, M.Com (PG) & MA Integrated History. The welcome address was given by Prof. Bharti Slathia, Coordinator BBA. The Symposium was judged by Prof. Neeru Bhalla (Coordintaor, Cluster University of Jammu), Prof. Barbara Kaul and Prof. Harpreet Kaur.
The first position was secured by Hasit Singh Sachdeva, followed by Sakshi Sambyal and Aakriti Sharma on 2nd& 3rd rank. The consolation prizes were bagged by Gurkirat Kaur and Manisha Choudhary.
Prof. (Dr.) Anil Gupta, Principal, Govt. SPMR College of Commerce and Dean Social Sciences, Cluster University of Jammu appreciated the efforts invested by the Punctuality committee and the students and emphasised that everyone should respect time and complete the work-related commitments timely. He also insisted that students should inculcate self-discipline and manage time in their lives.
The event was coordinated by the Punctuality committee members including Prof. Neeru Bhalla, Prof. Bharti Slathia, Prof. Monica Mahajan, Prof. Shreya Sharma, Dr. Sakshi Sharma and Dr. Himani Arora, supported by the student coordinators Geetansh Kalra (BBA-VI Sem) and Gunjan Bhatia (B.Com Hon's-IV Sem). The event was anchored by Dr. Sakshi Sharma and Prof. Shreya Sharma presented the formal vote of thanks.
