| People forced to drink contaminated water, frog found inside supply line | | |  Early Times Report
DODA, Apr 5: Doda villagers face problems in their day to day lives, there are reports that a frogs was found in a water supply pipes in Chiralla area of Doda district.
The incident came to light when locals saw frogs inside the main supply which is the only supply of drinking water at Sunarthawa village. Damaged water service lines and roads are now common issues of these Doda villagers since winter season.
While talking to Early Times, one of the resident of Chiralla Raja Khaleeq Anjum said that they have no water supply from four days. "I had called concerned PHE employed of Daljeet Singh for restoration of water but in replied he said, I have another work and can't restore the service line than went back to home, took the cutter blade and visited the blocked spot again. After cutting the blocked part of water pipeline, a frog was found which was struck inside it", he said.
This water service line starts from Loharthawa area of Chiralla and serve both Loharthawa and Sunarthawa hamlets where 100 household approximately but the unpunctuality of PHE Employee force people to drink the poisonous water for drinking. The ignorance of officials led people to came on roads for protests which makes violation of law and order.
It is pertinent to mention here that, due to non availability of water in tehsil Phagsoo, residents protest against PHE department on Monday but the authorities didn't take any steps even when hundreds of people in the area are suffering. After that people temporarily restores these water supply by themselves. However water crises rising day to day at peak. |
