Double Gold for Shreya in State Fencing Championship

Jammu, Apr 5: Shreya Gupta, an International ace fencer of Jammu and Kashmir won double gold in the ongoing three days 17th J&K State Fencing Championships played at Gymnasium Hall University of Jammu. The championship was organised by J&K Amateur fencing association in collaboration with Director Sports and Physical education and J&K Sport's Council.
Shreya won Gold in U-17 Open Category while dominating and defeating her opponents Kritarthi Kotwal and Rishika khajuria in the final respectively. Shreya is a bronze medallist in Commonwealth Championship at Newcastle, England. She has also participated in Asian championship at Dubai. She is U-17 National Gold medallist for consecutive last two years. She has won number of medals at national level. Recently recognising her extraordinary achievements at national and international level competitions, the state government has conferred her with State Award and Sher-I-Kashmir Award.
