World Health Day celebrated at BSF Headquarter

Jammu, Apr 10: BWWA, Frontier HQ BSF Jammu organized World Health Day today at BSF Campus Paloura, Jammu under the directions of N S Jamwal, Inspector General, Ftr HQ BSF Jammu.
World Health Day was inaugurated by Rajni Jamwal, President BWWA Ftr HQ BSF Jammu. Lakhdeep Kaur, Vice President BWWA Ftr HQ BSF Jammu accompanied BWWA President. Sh. Hardeep Singh, DIG/PSO supervised the camp. Dr. K S Kumar, Commandant (Medical) Ftr HQ BSF Jammu organized the camp and gave the welcome address.
Rajni Jamwal emphasized about the importance of World Health Day and told that we should follow the advice of Doctors and should take care of ourselves to avoid the incidences of heart problems. She also told that we are celebrating the world Health Day which is a global health awareness day celebrated every year on 07th April.
The theme for the year 2019 is "Everyone Everywhere Health for All. Dr. Arvind Kohli, the renowned Cardiac surgeon of GMCH Jammu delivered lecture on occasion of World Health Day. He told that heart diseases are the world's leading cause of death, killing about 17.4 million people every year. Overeating, lack of exercise, unhealthy diet and high blood pressure, raised cholesterol and glucose level are all factors which can trigger heart diseases and threatens the life of loveones.
World Health Day was set up to extend better health services to everyone. He emphasized that heart problem can be prevented by taking due precautions and changing our lifestyle. Dr. Arvind Kohli replied the questions asked by the BSF personnel who attended this function. About 120 BSF personnel including Officers, ladies, SOs and Jawans were present during the occasion. Dr Shafina Sawhney gave vote of thanks .Dr. Karnail Singh, CMO/SG, Dr. Bhupinder Singh, CMO/SG, Dr. Abhishek Sharma, CMO/SG were present during the occasion.
