UDAAN FEST-2019 begins at CUJammu

Jammu, Apr 10: An annual cultural fest, UDAAN-2019 organised by Central University of Jammu, begun today at Bagla. The event was inaugurated by Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ashok Aima in the presence of Prof. Devanand, Dean School of Basic and Applied Sciences, Prof. Govind Singh, Dean School OF Humanities and Social Sciences and Deans and HODs of various departments which followed lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
In his presidential remarks, Prof. Ashok Aima said that this is an event which provides an opportunity to the students to showcase their hidden talent to the others. "Unless we don't know ourselves in different forms and spheres, we are incomplete. Therefore, UDAAN like events encourage to know the students to know the self better and understand others well," he said and also added that these kind of events bring positivity, confidence and possibility of trust amongst the students.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Dean Students' Welfare, Prof. Deepak Pathania said that cultural events are integral part of our social life. He lauded all the students participating in the events by adding that such events enthuse the participants with unity, team spirit and leadership skills. On the first day of the fest, out of total seven events, three events including Collage Making, Photography and On the Spot Painting were organised. More than 200 students are participating in the events. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Vikash Shrivastava, ADSW, CU Jammu.
